DEBUNKED: Anti-Zionism is antisemitic

Anti-Zionism is opposition to a very specific racist political ideology, Zionism, that has caused irreparable harm to Arabs and Jews in the region of Palestine over the past century. The fact that it is an ideology associated with the Jewish people does not itself make it the same as being antisemitic, which is to hate the Jewish people directly for their race or religion.

While it is true that someone can be both anti-Zionis and antisemitic, they are not the same. Many Jewish people, religious and otherwise, are also anti-Zionist and in fact hold Zionism to be counter to their religious beliefs.

One can have no issue with the Jewish people in general and still be opposed to the ideology of Zionism.
